Danielle Jackson serves as University Prep Schools’ (U Prep Schools) chief academic officer (CAO). In her role, she is responsible for refining the school system’s academic vision to produce dramatic gains in student achievement with an emphasis on college readiness. Prior to accepting the position of CAO, Jackson served as principal of University Prep Academy High School for four years. An experienced K-12 educator, she has also taught at the elementary and middle school levels.
Jackson has a Bachelor of Science in elementary education and a master’s degree in educational leadership. Presently, she is pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership through a cooperative doctoral program jointly facilitated by Grand Valley State University and Eastern Michigan University.
A native Detroiter, Jackson understands first-hand the needs of the community University Prep Schools serves. In addition to her work at U Prep Schools, she is a certified professional coach and has served on the board of directors of Hope of Detroit Academy, a Detroit-based K-8 school, for the past seven years.
